New Year Special Recipes: 

(Festive Starters, Mains & Desserts to Celebrate)


1. Chicken Lollipop Dry - Party Starter



Ingredients:

  • Chicken lollipop – 10 pieces
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Soy sauce – 1 tsp
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  • Maida – 2 tbsp
  • Egg – 1
  • Salt – as needed
  • Oil – for frying

Preparation:

  1. Grill chicken with ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper, soy sauce & salt. Rest 15 mins.
  2. Rub in corn flour, maida and egg into the marination.
  3. Fry the chicken on medium heat until it becomes crispy.
  4. It is served hot, with spring onions and chilli sauce.



2. Veg Cheese Balls- Kids Favourite.



Ingredients:

  • Boiled mashed potato – 2 cups
  • Grated cheese – ½ cup
  • Chopped onions – 2 tbsp
  • Chopped capsicum – 2 tbsp
  • Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
  • Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – required
  • Oil – for frying

Preparation:

  1. Combine mashed potato, cheese, onion, capsicum, chilli flakes and pepper and salt.
  2. Coat balls in breadcumb.
  3. Fry in hot oil till golden. Serve with mayo dip.



3. Paneer Butter Masala- Rich and Creamy.



Ingredients:

  • Paneer cubes – 200 g
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Tomato – 3 pureed
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder – 1½ tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Fresh cream – ¼ cup
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – required

Preparation:

  1. Warm butter, cook onions till golden, put in ginger garlic paste.
  2. Add tomato puree, chilli powder and cook until thick.
  3. Add paneer, garam masala and simmer 5 mins.
  4. Add cream, mix and serve with naan or pulao.



4. Mutton Biryani - Festive Main Dish.



Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice – 2 cups
  • Mutton – 500 g
  • Onion – 3 sliced
  • Tomato – 2 chopped
  • Curd – ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  • Biryani masala – 2 tsp
  • Mint & coriander – handful
  • Oil + ghee – 4 tbsp
  • Salt – as required

Preparation:

  1. Add mutton, salt and 1 cup water and cook on pressure cooker, 3 whistles.
  2. Prepare the big pot with oil and ghee, fry onions till golden then tomatoes and paste.
  3. Add masala, mutton, add curd and cook 5 mins.
  4. Add soaked rice & 4 cups water. Cover & cook till rice is done.
  5. Rest 10 mins, fluff and serve hot.


5. Chocolate Lava Cake – Dessert of the New Year.



Ingredients:

  • Dark chocolate – 100 g
  • Butter – 50 g
  • Maida – ¼ cup
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Eggs – 2
  • Cocoa powder – 1 tbsp

Preparation:

  1. Bring chocolate and butter to melting.
  2. Beat eggs + sugar till fluffy, beat in chocolate.
  3. Add flour & cocoa, fold gently.
  4. Pour into greased moulds, cook 10-12 mins at 200% C.
  5. Serve hot!- molten middle must run out!


6. Sparkling Apple Mocktail



Ingredients:

  • Apple juice – 1 cup
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Sugar syrup – 1 tsp
  • Soda water – 1 cup
  • Ice cubes

Preparation:

  1. Combine apple juice, lemon juice and sugar syrup.
  2. Add ice and pour over ice with soda water.
  3. Garnish with apple slices.
